How to Safely Kill Bamboo

Here is how to Kill it,
without the use of any dangerous chemicals.

If possible, and if you know where it is, dig up the main root.
Don't be concerned if you do not know where that main root is,
follow the next steps anyway.

Cut every plant down to the ground.
Spread salt pellets, the kind used in water softeners.
One 20 pound bag for every 20 square feet.
Let snow and rain do the rest.

cleared property
This strip of property is 44 feet x 3 feet. They used 7 bags.
It is around the corner from my house, and on the other side of that fence is my driveway.
Before Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey in 2012, this space was infested with Bamboo, and the infestation had invaded three other neighboring properties, including mine.
This is how it looks now in 2021.

My neighbor had noticed that a lot of plants died where the ocean water had collected.
We are right by the beach and during that Hurricane some areas were flooded with salt water.
